An easy method to put Secuderm® and WatearProof® on and off
Secuderm® and WatEarProof® are very easy to apply. It only takes 3 minutes to put on the waterproof protection. The application is done in 3 steps:
- Apply the gel around the area to be protected. Since the gel is separate, it can be applied along any outline. The flexibility and adaptability of Secuderm make it a unique, innovative, and highly effective technology.
- Wait 1 minute for the gel to set. During this time, prepare the protective film by making small cuts.
- Place the film over the protected area and press firmly on the gel. The waterproof barrier is created. You can now go underwater.
Removal is as simple as pulling it off. It’s that easy!
Flexible and adaptable
Extremely flexible, extendable, and modular, the protective polyurethane film is unique in its ability to adapt to all external areas of the body, including difficult-to-treat locations such as the ears, between the fingers and toes, hands, and gluteal folds and clefts. Its unique characteristics also allow it to cover larger medical devices such as catheters.
Breathable, adjustable, and flexible up to twice its initial coverage, our kits come in two sizes to meet your specific needs.
Always read the label and follow the instructions.
Technical protective film
Secuderm® is an innovative, patented solution developed after 10 years of R&D.
The kit includes a sheet of polyurethane film that can be cut to size, along with one tube of adhesive gel. The adhesive gel, designed for skin application, contains hypoallergenic silicone and ethyl acetate, a volatile ingredient that prevents the gel from hardening and has an odor similar to acetone-free solvents. The adhesive gel is dermatologically approved.
The mechanical properties of the polyurethane ensure that the treated area is fully waterproof while allowing gases to escape from the affected area. Secuderm® is particularly praised for its exceptional breathability.
Another advantage is that the protective film adheres only to the external contours of the treated area, ensuring that it does not stick to the wound itself, thus maintaining maximum breathability.
Trusted by Professionals with the Highest Standards
Secuderm was tested and approved by French military medical officers for use in combat, particularly for treating complicated wounds in challenging-to-protect areas like the ankles and gluteal folds.
Recognized as one of the most breathable protective treatments, according to a 2016 study on protective dermatological systems by SIDVL and Professor Lurton (CHU Rennes, France),
Parents like Josephine L. share their experiences: 'We just returned from a surf vacation, and my 14-year-old son had no issues with his wound. He was able to surf all week without a drop of water reaching the dressing. Believe me, he spent the entire week in the water, riding waves and rollers, and the dressing held up perfectly.
Patient Association, such as La Vie Par Un Fil ("Life by a Thread") also study and highlight the benefits of Secuderm, particularly its impact on reducing the psychological burden of Home Artificial Nutrition, as seen in their poster.
